The Olde English Fair has served the local community well over the years and besides the fun of attending, it has also provides significant funding towards constructing a new church at Alexandra Hills.
Locally, the Olde English Fair assists in enabling the local community to be supported in numerous ways.
The Olde English Fair proceeds assist greatly in enabling our Church to offer many programmes to the community:
Our Parish is a partner with Sails at Bayside, https://www.sails-at-bayside.com.au/ our sailing and kayaking ministry for “at risk” youth.
Two youth groups are run on Friday evenings,
A mainly music group for toddlers every Monday and Tuesday morning with a “wait List”,
A book group that meets weekly,
A wide range of bible study and home groups as well as three services every Sunday with Messy Church held on the 4th Saturday in the month at 4pm during school term. Our halls are also well used by a wide variety of community groups.
The parish also provide care for local people in need through our emergency grocery parcels, and monthly visits to five local nursing homes.
The parish heavily supports Angel Tree; where we coordinate with the organisation by providing and distributing specific Christmas presents to the children of incarcerated parents.
We provide new toys and food hampers to Anglicare for distribution each Christmas to struggling families.
As you can see, we are a very active church which currently relies on the Olde English Fair to bolster our annual budget thus enabling these activities to continue.
